NEW RECTOR OF THE CATHEDRAL
FR. CHRISTOPHER GRAY
Pax Christi!
Since the time when I began singing with the Madeleine Choir School as a founding student, I have been devoted to this place. It was here at the Cathedral that I discerned my vocation to the priesthood. I am so honored to serve now as the pastor of this parish and rector of this spectacular mother church of the Diocese of Salt Lake City. I greatly look forward to catching up with many old friends and making new friends as your pastor!
Let’s get to know each other! The best way to do so is to schedule some time on my Calendly through the button below.
NEW PAROCHIAL VICAR
FR. ANDRÉ SICARD
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and grew up in Sandy City from the age of 2. My parents and older sister still live in the Salt Lake Valley. My home parish is St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Midvale, where I began altar serving at age 5 and later began playing piano and cantoring for Masses when I was 13 (and where I met Fr. Gray as a seminarian and Fr. Martin Diaz was my pastor for 7 years!).
I felt called to the priesthood from a young age. After graduating from Jordan High School in 2015, I studied philosophy at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon for four years (2019 - B.A. in Philosophy, Literature and Religious Studies) and continued my seminary formation at Theological College, the national seminary of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. I was ordained a priest on June 30, 2023.
I returned to D.C. the past two years to continue studies for a Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) which I completed in May. I look forward to meeting you and to serving with you in and for the Body of Christ, here at the Cathedral!
